Vincent P. Conroy, 72, Altoona, passed away Sunday at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Wallace J. and Catherine (Leonard). He married Connie J. Neely May 8, 1982 in Hollidaysburg. Surviving is his wife Connie, two daughters: Donna J. Arthur and Beth A. Conroy; and two granddaughters: Abigail and Morgan Arthur. Vincent was an Altoona High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, being awarded a Purple Heart for his service. He retired after 34 years from Norfolk Southern, formerly Conrail. He was a member of the Swiss Rifle Club, and enjoyed reading, pinochle, hunting and fishing, his dog Zena, and especially spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held for Vincent at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
