Tommy Lee “Tom” Hollows, 68, Altoona, passed away Tuesday after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Donald and Winifred (Rosser) Hollows. He married Darlene Filer June 10, 1972, in Altoona. Surviving is his loving wife of 47 years--Darlene Hollows; his son Joshua Hollows and his wife Cherean, a special sister-in-law Deb Johnsonbaugh and husband Kim Headdings, his brother in law Ralph Filer and his wife Julie, three sisters: Julie, Toni Weyer (Shawn), and Robin Bice (Shawn), as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Tom was a 1969 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired after 30 years as a machinist from Norfolk Southern. He was a member of Riggles Gap Sportsmens Club. He enjoyed reading, walking his dog Sparrow at PSU Altoona and through East Juniata, and spending time with his family. He had fond childhood memories of spending time with his “Mom-Mom and Pap” Rosser. Friends will be received from 3:00 PM until the 5:00 PM memorial service Monday, August 5, 2019, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tommy's name to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue.
