Sonya Stein

Sonya L. Stein, 82, Altoona, passed away Saturday at her home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul and Esther (Cartwright) Ray.

Sonya was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her children: Esther Packard (Lee), Deborah Plowman (Randal), Melinda Croft, Michele Stein (Andrew Brantner), Lee Stein and Richard Stein; all of Altoona; grandchildren: Lee Allen, Heather, Amber, Angela, Lee Jr., Gavin, Michael, Christina, Andrea, Jonathan, Skyler, Nicholas and Jade; numerous great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Billie Lou Shaneyfelt.

Sonya enjoyed to read and play computer games. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved cat.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
