Shawn Lee Ray

Shawn Lee Ray, 52, Tyrone, passed away early Wednesday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Springfield, OH, son of Jerry Ray and Dorothy (Decker) Harper. On November 23, 1996, he married Tammy Lynn Yeager in Altoona. In addition to his wife, Tammy, of 25 years; he is survived by his parents, Dorothy Harper and husband George Hiram Harper; five children: David Yeager of Tyrone, Brandie Myers of Altoona, Matthew Yeager of Altoona, Samantha Ray of Altoona, and Courtney Mort of Altoona; 14 grandchildren; and four siblings: Tammy Sue Wood of OH, Delaina Richard of RI, Vera Gray of OH and G. Hiram Harper, II. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Meeka Starr Yeager; a sister and two brothers. Shawn worked for Nuway Scaffolding. He enjoyed NASCAR, football, and especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He served in the US Army. On May 23, 2021 there will be a receiving of friends at 1p.m. with a service following at 2p.m. at Spring of Hope Community Church, 605 Burns Ave. Altoona 16601.
