Rosemary Louise Carter, 90, Altoona, passed away Friday evening at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William F. and Dorothy (Jaka) Axtell. On September 8, 1949, she married William B. Carter in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1988. She is survived by three children: William J. and wife Marilyn of Altoona, Robert of Colorado, and Deborah McNitt and husband Bill of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Pastor Barbara Troxell of Altoona, and a number of nieces of nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory and a brother, William. Rosemary was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed traveling, reading, and needlepoint. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Troop #1. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
