Rose A. (Rosie) Troxell, 91, Altoona, passed away Friday afternoon.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Waschalk) Mayernick. On August 3, 1957, she married Merrill Troxell at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2023.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Troxell (Crystal) of Tyrone; two daughters: Karen Troxell-Lenning of Altoona and Cynthia Johnson of Columbia, MD; daughter-in-law, Leslie Troxell of Altoona; grandchildren: Shawna Gonsman (Jonathan), Jared Troxell (Micki), Jen Palladini (Todd), Jordan Troxell (Denise), KayLee Lenning (Joey), and Amber Johnson; great grandchildren: Jaidyn, Talan, Evirleigh, Leah, Emereigh and Kinsleigh; and siblings: Agnes Turchetta, Dorothy Mallin, Mary Mayernick, Catherine Mayernick, Charles Mayernick, Donald Mayernick and Eileen Mayernick.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Devon Johnson; three brothers: Richard, William and John Mayernick and a sister, Margaret Caracciolo.
Rose worked at Gable’s Department Store. She loved sewing, baking and cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Juniata.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Holy Rosary Church, 900 N 4th Street, Altoona, 16601 with Father Nelson Javier T.O.R. officiating. Entombment will be made at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Church.
