Roger Thomas Ochranek

Roger Thomas Ochranek, 63, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly. He was born in Altoona, son of John Andrew and Joan Margaret (Franks) Ochranek. He married Lou Ann Hostler on February 8, 1977 in Altoona. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2015. He is survived by his mother, Joan; three children: Kelly Porter and husband Stuart of Altoona, Melanie Jo Ochranek of Altoona, and Eric T. Ochranek and wife Tamara of Potsdam, NY; three grandchildren: Daniel and Lily Porter and Skylee Ochranek; three siblings: John Andrew Ochranek, Jr. (Jen) of Fleetwood, Teresa Lee Bender (Chris) of Philipsburg, and Dale Allen Franks of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger was an avid Penn State football and Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Friends will be received, Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata and Thursday, August 12 from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Very Rev. Ronald V. Osinski officiating. Interment will be made at Logan Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family, in care of Kelly Porter.
