Roger Lee Dodson

Roger Lee Dodson, 68, Altoona, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Robert and Darlene (Eicher) Dodson. On February 14, 1981, he married Beth A. Rice.

In addition to his wife, Beth, of 42 years; he is survived by three children: Brandon Dodson and wife Kara in Florida, Lydia Smith and husband Brian of Williamsburg and Hannah Dodson of Altoona; four grandchildren: Remington Smith, Maddison Smith, Dayton Dodson and Peyton Dodson; and a sister, Mary Kay Benson and husband Paul of Hollidaysburg.

He was preceded in death by two siblings, Debbie and Bobby Dodson.

Roger received his Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University and he retired from PennDot where he worked as a civil engineer.

He was a member of Grace Bible Church and the Alto Model Train Club.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Grace Bible Church, 164 Laurel Lane, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. Friends will also be received from 10 to 11 am on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the church where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 am with Pastor Daren Ritchey and Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park.
