Robert Lawrence Wesner, also known as “Larry”, 93, Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clarence Ray and Agnes (Green) Wesner. On March 8, 1947, he married Clara Belle (Myton) Wesner in Altoona. She preceded him in death on October 13, 1993. He is survived by a niece, Rae Cirrelle Grace of Altoona; a nephew, Robert Allan Acker of Altoona; great niece, Caitlin Grace Whittaker; great nephews: Scott Jr. and Jordan Grace; and many other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by good friends, Marcia Homan and her son, Travis and their family; and his beloved companion, his dog, Beanie. Larry retired from the US Airforce on June 28, 1986 as a Master Sergeant. He then worked for Butcher and Hart. After retiring he worked for the Altoona School District delivering food and Penn State Altoona as a groundskeeper. He enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, camping and spending time with his late wife at their cottage in Huntingdon County. He also enjoyed making ceramics. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25. Interment will be made at Mooresville Cemetery, Petersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, PO Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
