Robert E. Walter, Sr., 84, Williamsburg, formerly of Claysburg, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles, Sr. and Lenora Grace (Seymour) Walter. He married Karen Stahl, who preceded him in death on October 26, 1999.
He is survived by two children: Robert E. Walter, Jr. of Altoona and Elaine Frye (Jerry) of Williamsburg; grandchildren: Ashley Cisney (Corbin), Carly Frye (Kent), Jay Frye, Tory Becker (Terry), Tosha Walter, Melinda Walter and Meagan Miller; great grandchildren: Adessa and Danica Cisney, Brantley Frye, Talen Stewart and many other loving great grandchildren; two sisters: Cecila Deffibaugh and Ruth Tipton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Charles, Jr., William “Billy”, Donald “Nick” and Harry “Pete”.
Robert enjoyed auto auctions, hunting, watching his “soaps” and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was known as “Pappy BSer” and a constant joker.
He served in the United States Marine Corps.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, June 3, 2022 with Pastor Wayne Schaffer. Interment will be made at Bedford County Memorial Park.
