Robert C. Mountain

Robert C. Mountain, 93, Altoona, died Monday at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tanta. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles A. and Nettie (Ross) Mountain. Surviving are his children: Randy Mountain and wife, Theresa, Robert Mountain and wife, Tanta, Carol Mountain, Ama Nora Harris and husband, David, Betty Jane Snyder and husband, John, Lisa Catherine Bamman and husband, Jim, and Lori Jean Hoffman and husband, Ken; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel G. Mountain; and three brothers: Dean Mountain, Edgar Mountain and Ronald Mountain. Robert served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943-46, and then joined the U.S. Army and served from 1946-50. He retired as a baker from A&P in 1979.  He enjoyed his dog, Necee, camping and his family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2019. Interment will be in Blair Memorial Park.
