Richard L. Lockard, Sr.

Richard L. “Dick” Lockard, Sr., 86, Altoona, walked into Heaven on Friday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late William J. and Pearl (Reed) Lockard. He is survived by four children: Richard L., Jr. of Altoona, Debra Dick of Duncansville, Timothy L. of Merced, CA and Douglas of Altoona; four grandchildren: Jeremiah Dick, Jessie Bender, Taryn Witt, and Krysta Gomez; five great grandchildren; two step grandchildren: Sherriff Gilbert and Bryce Mathers; three step great grandchildren; son-in-law, Bob Dick; daughter-in-law’s: Lori Lockard and Penni Lockard; and former wife, Bonnie Lawrence Lockard. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth and Donald. Dick was a 1953 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike as an office clerk inspector. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and he also attended Puzzletown Road Bible Church. He was a member of the Bavarian Hall and served as a board member for the Altoona School District for 44 years. Private family services were held. Interment was made at Blair Memorial Park.
