Rebecca M. Foor

Rebecca M. Foor, 94, Altoona, passed away Wednesday morning.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Edwin L. and Laura (Akers) Moore. On November 15, 1946, she married Leroy Foor in Hagerstown, MD. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2012.

She is survived by three children: Deborah F. Jeffco of Altoona, Thomas C. (Nancy H.) of Alexandria, VA and Michele L. Smithmyer (Charles F.) of Altoona; grandchildren: David C. Jeffco, Melissa L. Taliaferro, Matthew A. Foor, Alicia M. Killinger, Amanda M. Harkins and Andrew C. Smithmyer; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel L. and an adopted sister, Martha Woodring.

Becky was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked at Black’s Pharmacy as a Post Office Manager until her retirement in 1993.

She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she served as a teen Sunday school teacher. She was also a Girl Scout Troop leader and enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rebecca’s caregiver and friend, Amy.

Friends will be received from 11 am until the Noon Memorial Service on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601. Inurnment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
