Phyllis L. Poorman, 76, Altoona, passed away Friday morning at The Village at Morrisons Cove. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Russell M. and K. Helen (Hunter) Wyland. She is survived by two daughters: Dawn R. McCreary (Tim) of Arizona and Stacey L. Stein of Altoona; four grandchildren: Madison and Megan McCreary, Zachary Merritts, and Gordon Hines; a niece, Amy Baker; two nephews: Pat and Mike Baker; and best friends: Terri Lansberry, Catherine Lambert, and Becky Seasoltz. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Shirley Wyper. Phyllis was a certified phlebotomist and worked at the Altoona Hospital as a Phlebotomy Supervisor. She attended Simpson-Temple United Parish. She enjoyed riding horses and loved going to Shady Trail Riding Club. Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
