After 86 years of love and laughter and of making the world a safer, more adoring world, Patty Lou Boyles completed her services to others and passed away January 30, 2022. She was born January 13, 1936, the daughter of Erma Stitt and Richard Smith. Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin S. Boyles in 2014 and her son Richard A. Boyles in 2015. Also preceding her was her sister Marie Smith of Pittsburgh. Surviving and honoring her legacy are sons, Stephen J. Boyles and Timothy W. Boyles, grandchildren Richard A. Boyles Jr (Jennifer), Brittany Boyles and Shanon Boyles of Altoona and John Boyles in Germany. Also surviving are her beloved great-grandchildren Dakota Boyles and Lane Boyles in Germany and Olive Boyles in Altoona. Also surviving is her twin brother Dick Smith of Altoona and sister Betty Miller of Niagara Falls, NY. Patty lived her life fully as a mother and a wife and grandmother and friend. Her matriarchal duties went much further than were expected or required. She was part nurse, part friend, part guardian, part comedian, part cheerleader and full-time mother to her children and their offspring. She lived a life of honor and service to others, mostly putting her own needs in the back seat while tending to the wants and needs of those she loved. Mrs. Boyles lived a full and rich life, including wintering in the Florida Keys with her husband for 12 years after her retirement from Consolidated Frieghtways. That was their dream and they lived it and loved it and made many new friends along the way who touched and enhanced their lives. Patty was active in the AAHS reunion committees and treasured the old friends equally. The family will be having private services. Please celebrate her life and laughter by doing something for someone who needs it.
