Norma Lou Smith, 79, Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William and Margaret (Sharrar) Larkins. On July 9, 1962 she married Donald Eugene Smith in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2019. Norma is survived by a daughter, Dawn “DJ” Huff and husband Drew of Altoona; two grandchildren: Lindzie Miles and husband Randy of Altoona and Tanner Huff and fiancé Gabrielle Moore of Laurel, MD; a great grandson, Ridge Miles; two nephews: Rick (Tina) Larkins of Altoona and Ryan (Jennifer) Smith of Ohio; and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Larkins and sister, Jodene Kress. Norma was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked for Sylvania for many years and retired from C-Cor Electronics. She loved spending time with her family and especially loved her role as Nan. She had extreme pride in her three grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed. Friends will be received from 4 until the 7 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata with Pastor Duane Coy officiating. Inurnment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
