Michael R. Greenwood

Michael (Mike) R. Greenwood, 43, of Sioux City, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 21, 2021 and is safely home in Heaven at last. Mike was born on January 14, 1978 to Patrick and Shirley (Walker) Greenwood in Altoona, PA. He graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1996. Mike attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice, NE from 2009-2011 to obtain his Associates of Science degree in Business Administration. He was inducted into the International Honor Society while attending SCC for achieving a highly commendable GPA. Mike will, first and foremost, be remembered for his love for his family, especially his daughter, Adison. He loved fishing, camping and watching his favorite team, the Steelers. He had a contagious smile and enjoyed family gatherings when he was surrounded by the ones who loved him. Mike is survived by his daughter, Adison Greenwood of Elgin, NE; parents, Patrick and Brenda Greenwood of Orangeburg, SC; Shirley (Walker) Greenwood of Altoona, PA; brother, Patrick (Joelle) Greenwood of Moberly, MO; sister, Jessica (Mike) Seidel of Altoona, PA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edgar and Averta Walker; parternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lois Greenwood; a cousin with whom he was especially close, Tammy Amrhein; and an uncle, Tom Walker. There will be a private memorial service held in Altoona, PA at the discretion of the family. Inurnment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
