Merrill C Troxell

Merill C. Troxell, 86, Altoona, passed away Monday evening surrounded by his family.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert C. and Verna E. (Coy) Troxell. On August 3, 1957, he married Rose Mayernick at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rose, of 65 years; a son, Ronald Troxell (Crystal) of Tyrone; two daughters: Karen Troxell-Lenning of Altoona and Cynthia Johnson and husband Ray of Columbia, MD; daughter-in-law, Leslie Troxell of Altoona; grandchildren: Shawna, Jared, Jennifer, Jordan, Kaylee, Devon and Amber; and great grandchildren: Jaidyn, Talan, Evirleigh, Leah, Emereigh and Kinsleigh.

Merrill was the last of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. Troxell.

Merrill retired after 32 years of service from PPG Industries as a line operator. He enjoyed bowling, boating, fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4^th Avenue, Altoona. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Holy Rosary Church, 900 N 4^th Street, Altoona, 16601 with the Very Rev. Ronald V. Osinski officiating. Entombment will be made at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Church.
