Mary Kathryn Lightner

February 8, 1952 — August 14, 2021

Mary Kathryn Lightner, 69, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Pete C. and Miriam E. (Civils) Ciaverella. On April 24, 1976, she married Thomas E. Lightner in Altoona. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2016.

She is survived by four brothers: Pete C. Ciaverella and wife Marlene of Altoona, Clair M. Ciaverella and wife Debbie of Altoona, Larry L. Ciaverella and wife Mary of Hollidaysburg, and Martin J. Ciaverella and wife Cindy of Claysburg; a sister, Annette M. McClain and husband Toby of Altoona; brother-in-law, George L. Lightner, II and wife Ginny of Lexington, SC; nieces and nephews: Pete Ciaverella (Kelley), Matthew Ciaverella (Season), Gina Clossin (Timothy), Angela Wertz (Daniel), April Payne, Sara Weitzel (Jeffrey), Robert Ciaverella (Anne), and Elizabeth Winter (Anthony); 14 great nieces and nephews; and one great great niece.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Nicholas Ciaverella.

Mary was a member of Geeseytown Lutheran Church. She owned numerous hair salons and worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker. She enjoyed cooking and most importantly, loved her family.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caretakers at Garvey Manor for their exceptional care over the last five years.

A private family service will be held. Inurnment will take place at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Geeseytown Lutheran Church, 462, US-22, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
