Mary Kathryn Schnavely

Mary Kathryn “Katie” Schnavely, 94, Altoona, passed away Monday morning at her home.

She was born in Juniata, daughter of the late Clayton L. and Lucy A. (Krebs) Corl. On August 27, 1949, she married Harry A. Schnavely, Jr. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Juniata. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2011.

Kathryn is survived by four children: Deborah K. Stevens (Gary M.) of Laceyville, PA, Kathryn A. Panek (Michael B.) of Martinsburg, William A. Schnavely of Claysburg and Sandra L. Sekerak (Michael C.) of Columbus, PA; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Frances Randolph, Donald F. Corl, Louise Henry and Richard Corl.

Kathryn was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and the Altoona School of Commerce. She worked for both the Gables Department Store and Glosser Brothers.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.

Friends will be received from 10 am until Noon on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4^th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at Noon with Pastor Elizabeth Hess officiating. Interment will be made at Pine Hall Cemetery, State College.
