Mary W Himes

Mary W. Himes, 84, Altoona, passed away Tuesday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born on July 21, 1937, in Punxsutawney, daughter of the late William and Rita (Hufford) Brothers. In 1956, she married Anthony L. (Pat) Himes at St. Marks Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, Pat, of 65 years; she is survived by four children: Michael (Rhonda) of Sinking Valley, Michele Fether (Larry) of Altoona, Brian (Sherry) of Altoona, and Renee Parowski (Dr. Keith) of Altoona; grandchildren: Michael Himes, Jr., Brent Cogan, Kelly Cogan, Justin Cogan, Lauren Cogan, Jamie Swank, Lindsey Sunderland, Danielle Adams, and Katerina Parowski; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Orlo. Mary was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired after 45 years of service from Butterick Co. where she worked as a pattern folder. She was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Red Hat Society. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, April 25, 2022 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus, 443 Wopsononock Ave, Altoona, 16601 with Rev. Fr. Timothy Grimmie officiating. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery.
