March 10, 1946 — July 7, 2021

Louise A. Hartman Yeager, 75, of Juniata, died Wednesday morning after fighting a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was born in Juniata, daughter of the late John E. and Aletta I. (Crawford) Hartman. She married Harry A. Yeager on February 27, 1965 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Harry; three daughters: Jennifer L. Yeager Hippo (Michael), Stefanie L. Yeager (Robert Hamilton), and Jessica A. Yeager McGraw (Eric Engelman); she took delight in her four grandchildren: Schuyler M. Hippo, Grant A. Hippo (Leila McCrumb), Nevan C. McGraw, and Grace E. McGraw; a sister, Carolyn Dietzel; a sister-in-law, Sally Yeager; a brother-in-law Sheldon Kauffman; and several special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very dear friend, Kathy McIntyre and her beloved cat, Lucy Jane.

She was preceded in death by her special dog, Mushu, who waits for her at the rainbow bridge.

Louise worked many years for the Altoona Mirror and spent almost 30 years caring for children at Stepping Stones Day Care where she was known by the children as Weezie or Aunt Louise. She loved each and every child she cared for and had the special honor of caring for the children of the now adults that she watched grow up. She was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Juniata where she will be greatly missed.
