Lois Jean Gutshall

Lois Jean Gutshall, 84, Altoona, passed away Sunday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Frederick Wayne and Margaretta B. (Schmidt) Perry.

On May 19, 1962, she married Thomas S. Gutshall in Altoona.

In addition to her husband, Thomas; she is survived by a son, Thomas R. Gutshall (Lisa) of Altoona; a grandson, Joshua; a granddaughter, Lilly; and a brother, Richard Wayne Perry (Sandra) of Moline, IL.

Lois was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School, a 1961 graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing and received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Penn State University in 1972.

She retired in 1993, after 17 years of service as the administrator from Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altoona, the Altoona Chapter Order of Eastern Star where she served as past matron, the Horseshoe Amateur Radio Club and Trinity Stitchers. She enjoyed amateur radio, camping, sewing, quilting and traveling.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Altoona, at a later date for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Endowment Fund, 408 N 6th Street, Altoona, PA 16601.
