Linda S. Berkey

Linda S. Berkey, 74, Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on February 16, 2023.  She was born in Altoona on August 2, 1948, the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Yon) Jones.  She married the late Robert Berkey on August 2, 1977.  He preceded her in death on April 12, 2005.

Surviving are two daughters; Ginger Baker and husband Dan of Bellwood, Nicole Berkey of Bellwood, one son; Todd Wertman and wife Jenni of Duncansville, five grandchildren; Elizabeth and Ethan Baker, Abbey Bracken and husband Josh, Alyssa Wertman and Alexus Berkey.  Also surviving are a brother Richard Jones and wife Barbie and a sister Margaret Lucas and husband, Thomas.  She was preceded in death by a brother Harold Jones and a sister Naomi Spickler.

Linda was a 1966 graduate of Altoona High School.  She retired from UPMC in October 2014, where she worked in Environmental Services.

She was a member of First Grace Brethren Church, Altoona where she loved doing various things around the church.  She also loved going on cruises, working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.

At her request, there will be no public viewing.

 Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 11th. There will be a Receiving of Family and Friends from 3:00-4:30 with the Celebration Service to follow at 4:30pm. It will be held at Grace Fellowship Church Leamersville Campus. The church address is 14 Brethren Lane Duncansville, PA 16635. The church is located between Leighty‘s Farm Market in Newry and the Walmart in East Freedom.
