Lillian M. Swander

Lillian M. “Lil” Swander, 95, formerly of Sinking Valley, died Saturday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James and Anna (Ritz) Morris. She married Donald L. Swander. Surviving are three daughters: Bonnie Unfried of Concord, CA, Ronna Wilson (Donald) of Altoona, and Tonda Denny (Dave) of Tyrone; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 11 great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two sisters; three brothers; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. “Dink” Swander on September 27, 2012; a son-in-law; a grandson; two step-grandsons; three brothers; and a sister. Lillian was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, talking with her friends, going to the river, camping and crocheting. She also loved her county life-watching the birds and wildlife in her yard. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
