LeDonna Mae Harris, 84, Altoona, formally of Duncansville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday afternoon, after a brief illness. She was born in New Enterprise, daughter of the late John Irvin Frederick and Alma F. (Kiefman) Kearns. She married her high school sweetheart, John P. Harris, on August 26, 1955 at the Congregational Christian Church in Winchester, VA. Surviving are her husband of 65 years; two sons: Dr. John A. of Duncansville and RN Zane of Cresson; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Ziegler of Cleveland, OH. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Jesse, Paul, and James; and three sisters: Betty Blair, Lillian Csato, and Laura Longstreth. She was a homemaker and self-employed for 40 years as owner/operator of J&L Ceramics starting at the old famers market located on Green Avenue in Altoona in 1966. She is a member of the true Church, “the Body of Christ” having trusted that Christ died for her sins and rose again. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe in her early years of marriage to her husband who was in the military, living in Mississippi, Florida, New Mexico, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Texas on two occasions and also Germany. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 3 until the 4 p.m. memorial service at the Altoona Bible Church, 3017 Union Avenue, Altoona, 16602.
