Kay D. Schumacher

Kay D. Schumacher, 80, Altoona, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL, died Monday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late George E. and Mary E. (Ellenberger) Davis. On April 23, 1980, she married Ronald C. Schumacher in Altoona. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2008. Kay is survived by sisters: Gail Kinney in Altoona and Peggy Davis in New York; a brother, George Davis in New York; special nephews: Jerry O’Brien in CA and Bruce Schumacher in FL; and many other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend and caregiver, Jane Barr. She was a 1959 graduate of Tyrone High School. She worked for Altoona Shoe, Proctor Silex, and she retired from Essilor of America, located in Florida. At the request of the deceased, no public services will be held.
