Kay M. Lightner, 72, of Roaring Spring, died unexpectedly on Monday. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late B. Russell and Esther (Roland) Lightner. She is survived by seven sisters: Janet (John) Ronk of Hesston, Kathy (Sam) Mellott of Waterside, and Donna (Tony) Martino, Joyce (Tom) O’Shell, Ginny (John) Williams, Pam (Bob) Lunger, and Mary Paula (David) Mains, all of Altoona; two brothers: Benjamin Russell (Ruth Ann) of Bellwood and Jim (Sue) of Ebensburg; and many nieces and nephews, especially Michael “Supie” Cliber. She is also survived by Christopher Dare who was raised in her home. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lightner. She was a 1965 graduate of Bellwood Antis High School and worked for 30 years at the Hollidaysburg State Hospital and then the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s home in the activities department. She was affiliated with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the Hollidaysburg CMA Church, 183 Jefferson Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hollidaysburg CMA Church.
