Karen J. (Pittman) Focht, 74, Altoona, passed away Friday at Maybrook Hills Altoona surrounded by her family.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Jean Pittman and the late James Pittman. On November 11, 1967, she married Donald W. Focht in Altoona.
She is survived by her mother, Jean Pittman of Altoona; four children: Brian Focht and wife Lisa of NJ, Brent Focht and wife Christine of PA, Kimberly Santos and husband John of NJ, and Kelly Musselman and Justin Baughman of Altoona; son-in-law, Andrew Musselman of Altoona; eleven grandchildren: Katelyn, Ryan, Bailey, Hunter, Liam, Anthony, Brandin, Colton, Alexis, Bradley, and Brooklynn.
In addition, two sisters, Sandy Toth and husband Bill of Northern Cambria; Debbie Rummel and husband Randy of Northern Cambria and a brother, David Morgan and wife Dorothy of Duncansville of her late biological mother Letty Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don and father, James Pittman.
Karen attended Altoona Beauty School, worked at Gardner’s Candies, and was a home aid for several years. She was a member at the Bavarian Aid Society, The Newburgh, and The Heidelberg. In addition, she was a member of Transformation Church.
Karen was a devoted daughter, mother, and nana. She took pride in spending time with her family and making memories. She enjoyed cheering her grandchildren on at all their sporting events. She loved dancing and was a follower of the Fabulous Flashbacks. Karen’s smile always lit up a room and she was the life of the party! She was known as the interior decorator and for her amazing, sweet treats!
In her spare time, she enjoyed planting flowers, soaking up the sunshine and being with her furry companions. Karen had a heart of gold and will forever be remembered for her infectious laugh and beautiful smile.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 with visitation from 4 pm to 6 pm and service beginning at 6 pm at Trans4mation Church, 1001 S. First Street, Altoona PA 16602. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
