Judith E. (McConahy) Binus

Judith E. (McConahy) Binus 75, Altoona, passed away late Wednesday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late C. Earl and Alverna (Clugh) McConahy. She married Jack I. Binus in Altoona April 21, 1978. He preceded her in death June 3, 1993. Surviving is her daughter Tanya Blissman (Scott); and her grandchildren: Vanessa and Andrew Blissman. Judy was a graduate of Altoona High School, and went on to attend Lock Haven University. She had worked at McConahy’s Market, and then became owner of Altoona Candy Company for many years. She also had worked at Gap Care for Kids at Mardorf United Methodist Church, where she was a member for years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, August 5, 2019, and from 10:00 until the 11:00 AM funeral service Tuesday, August 6, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mardorf United Methodist Church, 3429 Juniata Gap Road, Altoona, PA, 16601, or to Big Brothers Big Sisters, 891 23rd Street, Altoona, PA, 16602.
