Joan Y. Perry, 80, Altoona, passed away Wednesday morning at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. She was born in Oil City, daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred (Thomas) Pearson. On February 24, 1962, she married Jay E. Perry at Christ Second Lutheran Church in Altoona. In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by three children: Jeff and wife Kim of Altoona, Jill McMillan and husband Scott of Altoona, and Joy Pastor and husband Rollie of Nazareth, PA; three grandchildren: Tyler Pastor, Sophia McMillan, and Emily Perry; and two sisters: Shirley Ernest and husband Dave of CA and Pat Harrity and husband Gary of Altoona. Joan was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked for A&P Grocery Store and later at Warner Cable Company Customer Service in the main office on 29th Street. She was a member of the Wehnwood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and loved to go to the ball games. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Blair Memorial Park, 3234 E Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, 16601.
