Janet D. Fleck, 87, Duncansville, passed away Thursday morning at the Winds at Mattern Orchard. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Bernard and Alma (Page) Kuhn. On Feburary 10, 1979, she married Norman “Bud” Fleck in Altoona. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2009. She is survived by three sons: Dr. Robert Messner and wife Rebecca of Texas, Dr. William Messner and wife Hannah of Florida, and Dr. Rodney Messner and wife Elizabeth of Wisconsin; four grandchildren: William, Ashley, Rylan, and Kirsten; two great grandchildren: Addison and Landon; and several nieces and nephews; two of which were instrumental in her care-Marjorie Schaffer and husband Herman (Jake) of Altoona and Nancy Coon and husband Larry of Virginia. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Miriam Chambers, Marjorie Burket, and Jocelyn Smith. Janet was a graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from SKF as a line worker. She was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church. She enjoyed card games, loved playing bingo and spent her retirement years camping at Glendale with her husband. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery, 763 Forsht Lane, Altoona, 16601 with Pastor Julia Piper officiating.
