Janet Black

Janet M. Black, formerly of East Orange, NJ, died peacefully Friday night, December 4, 2020, at Colonial Courtyard at Bedford.  She was born in Claysburg, daughter of the late Amos G. and M. Alberta (Walter) Black.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews including;  Jerre Black of Claysburg, Clair Black of Bedford, Patty Lohr of Jacksonville, FL, Irma Bowser of Osterburg and Janet Ritchey of Osterburg.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Black, a sister, Dora Ickes and a nephew, Larry Ickes.

Janet was a graduate of Claysburg High School and Shippensburg State Teacher’s College graduating in 1949.

She taught Business Education for 32 years at Clifford Scott High School New Jersey and also taught three years at Bedford High School in Bedford, PA, retiring in 1984.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or funeral.  Interment will be at Alto Reste Park.  Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
