James L. Marlett, 87, Martinsburg, passed away Friday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Patrick and Ella (Conrad) Marlett. He married Darlene (McGinnis) Marlett. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2016. James is survived by three children: James P. Marlett and wife, Danielle of Martinsburg, Carol Weaver and husband Alan of Altoona, and Jeff Marlett and wife Carol of Altoona; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; siblings: Rose Potter, George Marlett, and Barbara Capute; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy J. Troutman. James worked alongside his wife, Darlene, for over 38 years for the Altoona Mirror as a carrier. He was a member of the Homers Gap Civic Center and enjoyed hunting. He served in the U.S. Army. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. Immediately following the receiving of friends, the family would like to invite everyone back to the Knights of Columbus Hall, 324 Bedford Street, Hollidaysburg for food and drinks. Inurnment will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
