James E Frederick Sr.

James E. Frederick, Sr., 92, of Altoona, passed away at his home Wednesday, November 20, 2024. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Helen (Speck) Frederick. He married Anna M. Nagle, who preceded him in death July 22, 1996. He then married Thelma Smith, who preceded him in death in 1999.

Surviving are his children: Helen Frederick, Cindy Frederick, Kenneth Frederick, Scott Frederick, Nora Frederick; his siblings: Kenneth, Jeanie, and Shirley; his grandchildren: Tina Stine as well as many more grandchildren; his great-grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Patrick, as well as many more great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters: Charlotte Marie and Shirley Ann; two sons: Mike and Thomas; two great-grandchildren: Breanna Kay, Jamie and Kaylynn; and three brothers: Bill, Robert, and Don.

James worked in the maintenance department at Tritex for many years. He also ran a hauling & trash service locally. James enjoyed classic cars, Christmas decorations, watching old westerns, and especially spending time with family.

Friends will be received Saturday, December 7, from 1-2pm with a 2pm memorial service at Juniata Church or the Brethren. 306 North 9th Ave, Altoona 16601, with Rev. Robert Wharton, officiating.
