Iva Mae Shirley Stevens, 91, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Blance Linville (Carson) Sommer. She married Arthur Gerald “Jerry” Stevens on June 20, 1948 in Altoona. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2021.
She is survived by three children: Karen L. Bays (Dean) of Casstown, OH, David A. Stevens (Cindy) of Tyrone RD, Wendy S. McNece (Buck) of Maytown, PA; five grandchildren: Ben Bays, Brooke Bucher, Deanna McNece, Alyssa Shearer, and Hannah McNece; three great grandchildren: Charlie Bays, Gracie Bays, and Isabelle Bucher; and a sister, Arlene Glass of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Sommer.
Shirley was a member of Riggles Gap Bible Church where she was actively involved. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and singing and was a great teacher of the Bible.
Friends will be received from 2 until the 3 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Riggles Gap Bible Church, 613 Lear Road, Altoona, 16601 with Pastor William Ice officiating. Interment will be made at Asbury Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
