Gordon J. “Skip” Condon, 87, Altoona, passed away peacefully, Friday, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Roland K. and Ruth (Botteicher) Condon. On August 31, 1957, he married Barbara A. Willnecker.
In addition to his wife of 65 years; he is survived by three children: Doran J. Condon of Mechanicsburg, Rebecca James (Howard) of Altoona and Gordon James Condon of Altoona; grandchildren: John M. Davis (Kara) and Cortney James (Jason Tai); and great grandchildren: Kain Davis, Alhana Davis and Gordon Davis.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Louise Endress and Vivian McCullough.
Skip was a 1953 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired on November 17, 2000 from the City of Altoona as a water treatment plant operator.
He spent many years coaching little league sports; including, football, baseball and basketball. He also umpired little league. He was an animal lover and especially loved walking his dog at Highland Park. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He served in the US Army Reserve.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
