George E. Bistline, 73 Altoona, passed away Wednesday morning at his home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Glenn Charles, Sr. and Vivian Louise (Line) Bistline.
He is survived by his spouse and four children: Rachel Fazio of Wesley Chapel, FL, Ashley Bistline, Dalton Bistline, Adalina Barr all of Altoona; brothers: Jay (Maryann) Bistline and Glenn (Linda) Bistline of Altoona; and a sister, Sue Marsalisi.
George served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After which, he began his law enforcement career in October of 1976 at the Altoona Police Department. He served for 46 years, gaining the rank of Sergeant, until his passing. While serving, George pursued and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Penn State University in Administration of Justice.
He was trained in TaeKwonDo achieving a 3rd Degree Black Belt. He enjoyed weightlifting, golfing, and trips to Disney.
Friends will be received from 10 until 1 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Jaffa Shrine Center, 2200 Broad Avenue, Altoona, 16601 where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm with Pastor Mike Blackie officiating. Procession to Alto Reste Park will follow. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
