Gary Ronald Rupert

Gary Ronald Rupert, 82, Altoona, passed away Monday evening at his residence.
 
He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Grace (Wolfe) Rupert. In 1958, he married Judith Schiappa.
 
In addition to his wife Judy of 60 years, he is survived by three children: Gary R. Rupert, Jr. of Altoona, Heidi Keirn-Smith and husband Marc of Mechanicsburg, and Nicole E. Evans and husband Kevin of Austin, TX; four grandchildren: Tiffani, Krystyn, Corry, and Connor; and two sisters: Gloria Salomie of Altoona and Katy Mayab and husband Larry of Reno, NV.
 
Gary served in the Army from 1956 to 1958. He worked at PPG until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
 
At the request of the deceased, no visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gary’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 1004 N Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
