Florence Marie Hammel, 70, Altoona, passed away Wednesday evening at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Johnstown, daughter of the late Wilbert and Bessie (Shaw) Davinson.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra M. Burd and husband Michael of Altoona; grandchildren: Brittany Rogers, Michael Clinger (Daly), Brett Clinger (Amber Smith) and Harley Garman (Angelo); great grandchildren: Cameron Anderson, Drayden and Malakai Clinger, Victoria Clinger, and Brantley, Savannah and Tyler Garman; a great-great granddaughter: Anngelyca Anderson; and two brothers: Robert Davinson and Wilbert Davinson, Sr. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Hammel in 2014, a daughter Donna Marie Tucker and a sister, Diana George.
Florence retired as an assistant manager from Steel City Construction. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church where she was an active member in the church. She served as an usher, deacon, Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She enjoyed painting and crochet.
Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm Monday, March 4, 2024, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601, where a funeral service will be held at 1pm. Interment will take place at Alto Reste Park.
