Ethel M. Vallei, 94, Chambersburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Friday at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William and Marie (DiSabato) Palladini. On July 28, 1945, she married John Vallei at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Juniata. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2005.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Walter and husband Barry of Chambersburg; a son, Robert Vallei of Altoona; a daughter-in-law, Josette Vallei of Juniata; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Vallei; a daughter, Carol Vallei; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Vallei; a sister, Anne Hogan; brothers: William and Gene Palladini; and a granddaughter, Christy Johnson.
Ethel retired from the Altoona Public Library as a Librarian. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 900 N 4th Street, Altoona with Rev. Ronald V. Osinski officiating. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ethel’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
