Christine L. Simpson

Christine L. Simpson, 75, of Altoona, passed away on New Year’s Eve at UPMC, Altoona, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Christopher and Fanny Ravinia (James) McConnell. She married Richard P. Simpson on November 15, 1988, in Altoona. Christine is survived by her husband and two sons, Samuel R. Merritts, Jr., and Brian S. Merritts; 5 grandchildren, Kyler C. Merritts, Samuel L. Merritts, Melissa L. Merritts, Hannah J. Albright, and Megan L. Eckenrode; a favorite niece, Cheyenne; and two sisters, Gloria Keith and Annatrean Rossman. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and four sisters. Christine was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist faith. All Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata.
