Charlotte B. Shumac

Charlotte B. Tilson Shumac, 82, Altoona, passed away Saturday morning at her home.

She was born in Gallitzin, daughter of the late George Franklin and Mildred Geraldine (Yohn) Adams.

On September 3, 1983 she married Ralph E. Shumac in Edith Davis Eve Chapel. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2021.

She is survived by five sons: Joe Tilson (Deb), Ken Tilson (Billie Jo), Brian Tilson, Bill Tilson (Tammy) and Richard Tilson, all of Altoona; a daughter, Mary Blontz (Joe) of Altoona; 25 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; a sister, Iva Pfahler of Pinecroft; and a brother, Ronald Adams of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

Charlotte was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 7 pm. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
