Carl A. “Robbie” Robison, 95, Duncansville, died peacefully Sunday morning, December 29, 2019, in the presence of his loving family. He was born in Altoona on November 5, 1924, son of the late Howard P. and Clara A. (Price) Robison. On July 2, 1953, he married Laurita M. McKinney in Juniata. “Ritie” preceded him in death on September 23, 2017, after 64 years of wonderful marriage. Surviving are six children: Barry and Joni Robison of Boiling Springs, Mark and Jan Robison of Flagstaff, Ariz., Daniel and Denise Robison, of Pottstown, Janet and Norman Bumbarger, of Altoona, Ken and Brenda Robison, of Tipton, and Sherry and Kevin Ankeny of Glens Falls, NY; eleven grandchildren: Lindsay Shoop, Gabriel Robison, Sam Robison, Ambrose Robison, Sean Robison, Ryan Robison, Lauren Robison, Kelsie Bumbarger, Kimberly Karcher, Brande Robison and Kenny Robison; two great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Morrison and Barrett Morrison; and one sister, Margie Askey. He was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and one grandson. Carl was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School and earned a 2-year degree in electrical engineering from Penn State, Altoona. He worked as a Quality Control Inspector for SKF Industries until his retirement. An Army veteran, Carl served from 1943-1946 and received several awards and medals, including the Purple Heart when wounded in action in Germany during World War II. He was a lifelong member of Juniata United Methodist Church, where he served God and the Church by teaching Sunday School, working with youth, and holding several leadership positions. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. Carl’s interests and hobbies included hunting and fishing, playing fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, organizing and participating on golf and bowling in various leagues, and playing board and card games with family. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and attending family gatherings. Most recently, he and his family greatly appreciated the care he received at the Allegheny Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg. Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2020, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. celebration of life service, Monday, January 6, 2020, at Juniata United Methodist Church, 808 N. Fourth St., Altoona, Rev. Julia Piper officiating. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made to the elevator fund at the Juniata United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata.
