Betty Louise Ryen, 97, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at the Celebration Villa of Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Clarence and Fleda (Morgan) McConahy. She married John T. Ryen, Jr. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2003.
Betty is survived by two daughters: Sharon L. Dimond of Altoona and Peggy L. Lunglhofer (Dennis) of Altoona; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Ryen of Lewisberry; grandchildren: Jason Ryen of Dover, Travis Lunglhofer of Altoona and Jodi Ryen of Etters; and great grandchildren: Chanel, Caitlyn, Braydn, Emily and Emma. She is also survived by a sister, Leanna Montgomery in Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roy E. Ryen; a granddaughter, Lisa Dimond; a son-in-law, George W. Dimond; a sister, Ethel McNeal and two brothers, Ralph McConahy and Clarance McConahy, Jr.
Betty retired from the Altoona Area School District where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, reading and puzzles.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 am on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Joey Fleck officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Celebration Villa of Altoona, Activity Fund, 170 Red Fox Drive, Duncansville, PA 16635 or to Penn Hospice, 313 West High Street, Suite #210, Ebensburg, PA 15931.
