Betty Jane Grove

January 21, 1928 — August 29, 2019

Betty Jane Grove, 91, Altoona, passed away early Thursday morning at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care. She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Leroy and Ruth Elizabeth (Cobert) Park. On July 7, 1952, she married Jack R. Grove in Juniata at the Juniata United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in 1965. Betty is survived by two grandsons: James Scarangella and wife Cristina of Duncansville and Jeremy Scarangella of Altoona; a great grandson, Jeremy Scarangella of Altoona; and a son-in-law, James Scarangella. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorrie Hample and a brother, Roy Park. Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Juniata United Methodist Church and a member of the Cheerful Workers Sunday School Class. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care for the exceptional care they provided. Friends will be received on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 11 until the 1 p.m. Funeral Service at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. Pastor Julia Piper officiating. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
