Betty Lou Drugg, 91, Altoona, passed away at Altoona Center for Nursing Care at Amber Terrace after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lewistown, Pa, daughter of the late George A. and Luella (Shannon) Ross. She married William Drugg May 1, 1948, in Lewistown. He preceded her in death. Surviving are her children: her daughter Teresa L. Batrus (Denny) of Altoona; her son William R. Drugg (Lori) of Bellwood; 2 granddaughters: Stacy Blackie (John) and Jamie Pope (Matthew), both of Hollidaysburg; 4 great-grandchildren: Cody Blackie (Lexi), Casey Augustine (Mark), and Charlee and Emilee Pope; great-great granddaughters Rosalee Augustine and Lakyn Blackie; several nieces and nephews, and a very special niece Pamela Hughes and nephew Barry Drugg. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, an infant daughter Vicki Jane; her brother George Ross, Jr., and her sister (whom she adored) Mary Jane Goss. Betty was a graduate of Lewistown High School, class of 1945, where she was a cheerleader and was a member of a female singing trio. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and recently attended First Church of Christ with her daughter. Betty was also a member of Juniata Civics Association. She adored her family whom she loved spending time with, and also enjoyed writing poetry, cheering on her favorite Penn State and Steeler football teams, and camping with family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed…until we meet again, Mom. At the request of the deceased, a private funeral service will be held at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
