Barbara (Moore) Latchford, 79, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Logan Township, died Sunday evening at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Wm. Howard and Helen (Switzer) Moore. On June 20, 1964, she married Richard Latchford at Bethany Lutheran Church in Altoona, and he preceded her in death in 2016. Surviving are a son, Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Latchford, USN retired and wife, Robin, and their daughters, Margaret and Catherine, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Lynette B. Latchford of Port Matlida; a sister, Joanne M. Cannistraci of Tyrone and her three sons, whom Barbara loved. She is also survived by Richard's brother and sister-in-law, Durwin and Ginny Latchford, of Altoona. Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School. She was retired from the Warehousing Division of the Ward Corporation. She was a life member of the Friends of the Hollidaysburg Area Library where she served as treasurer for several years and she had been a member of Altoona Chapter 290 OES. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Juniata where she served on the Social Ministries committee and had once been the advisor of the youth group. She also served many years as co-chairman of the Trinity Women's Retreat. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her children, her granddaughters, and her nephews and their families. Reading, scrapbooking, and needlework were her passions and she had loved being a Red Hat Lady during its era. A private family burial will take place at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
