Anthony (Pat) L. Himes

Anthony L. “Pat” Himes, 86, Altoona, died Tuesday evening, November 22, 2022, at home.  He was born May 23, 1936, in Antis Township, a son of the late Anthony C. and Dorothy A. “Briggs” Himes.  He married Mary W. Brothers at St. Marks Catholic Church, Altoona.  She preceded him in death on April 19, 2022.

  He is survived by four children; Michael (Rhonda) Himes of Sinking Valley, Michele Fether (Larry) of Altoona, Brian Himes (Sherry) of Altoona and Renee Parowski (Dr. Keith) of Altoona, grandchildren; Michael Himes, Jr., Brent Cogan, Kelly Cogan, Justin Cogan, Lauren Cogan, Jamie Swank, Lindsey Sunderland, Danielle Adams, and Katerina Fischer; and 14 Great-grandchildren. 

 Also surviving are brothers and sisters; Charles, Richard, Darlene Curry, William, Dennis, David, Ronald and Sherry Merritts.  He was preceded in death by three brothers; Paul, Joseph and Robert.

  He was a graduate of Bellwood High School. Pat was a self-employed contractor.  He was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church and the Jaffa Shrine Provost Guard.  He loved going to Penn State football games and was a member of the Miss Pennsylvania Dinner Club.

  Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4^th Avenue, Altoona.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church with Rev. Fr., Timothy Grimme, officiating.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
