A. Louise Elvey, 95, Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (Robison) Peterman. She was twice married. She married Walter Richard “Mooney” Stayer. He preceded her in death. She later married James Elvey. He preceded her in death. Louse is survived by two children: Richard Stayer and wife Dottie and Joyce Hillard, both of Altoona; six grandchildren: Russell Scott Burk, Daniel Clyde Burk, Travis John Hillard, Michael John Hillard, Pamela Kaye Wertman, and Shelby Lynn Stayer; 14 great grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren. Louise was a graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce. She was a bookkeeper for Automotive Supply and she also worked for Peterman’s Flower Shop, Kenney’s Shoes, and Kresses. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and a former member of the Juniata VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed the beach and ocean and to eat out with her family. The family would like to give a special thanks to Renee and Christie and all of the Hospice Staff that helped to care for Louise. Friends will be received from 11 until the Noon Funeral Service on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
